Who provides the service

OOWN is provided by Skurskaya Marina, a sole trader (ФОП) registered in Ukraine. You can reach us at info@oown.app.

The service

OOWN helps you build and study a personal vocabulary: you save words and phrases, we generate audio and examples for them, and you practise pronunciation and comprehension. We add, change and remove features as the product develops.

Your account

You need an account to use OOWN. Give accurate information, keep your credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly at info@oown.app if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 16 years old.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights, using the service.

• Upload recordings of other people without their permission.

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts, or our infrastructure.

• Scrape, resell or redistribute the content the service generates, or use the service to build a competing product.

• Place a load on the service that disrupts it for other users.

Your content

Whatever you put into OOWN — your word collections, your notes and your voice recordings — stays yours. You give us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the service to you: to score your pronunciation, generate audio, and show your material back to you. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

Third-party content

The service shows content from third parties, including videos served by YouTube. That content belongs to its owners, we do not control it, and your use of it is additionally governed by the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms.

Subscriptions and payments

Paid plans are not available yet. When they are, you will be able to request a refund within 7 days of a payment.

Our intellectual property

The OOWN software, design, branding and the learning materials we produce belong to us and our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of anything.

Availability

We work to keep OOWN available and accurate, but we provide it "as is". We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we do not guarantee that generated translations, examples or pronunciation scores are free of error. They are study aids, not professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using OOWN and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or the law, or that puts the service or other users at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Ukraine, and disputes go to the courts of Ukraine. If you are a consumer in the EEA, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use OOWN after that means you accept the new Terms.
